Meet Our Team

Monte

Office Manager

Monte has been a part of El Sobrante Veterinary Hospital for over 25 years! He is a long time resident of the San Pablo/El Sobrante area. Monte is a huge Star Wars enthusiast and has quite the array of collectibles from the films. He also has a love of cartoons, movies, and loud music. He is the proud papa to one cat, and three dogs. He is a very patient person, which helps him while working with a bunch of Type A women! On the weekends Monte can often be found participating in Sport Dog Trials with the youngest of his crew, Chewie Nugget.

Andrea

Andrea has been working with animals all of her life. She’s been a veterinary technician at El Sobrante Veterinary Hospital since 2001. Andrea is our chief phlebotomist, and our resident Aggressive Dog Whisperer. She does a lot of volunteer work with Woof Rescue, and often has foster dogs tagging along with her regular herd of dogs that includes three Belgian Malinois and a chihuahua who, of course, is the one that runs the house! She also has one cat that thinks he's a dog! She also has a husband that knows not to even try competing with the dogs!

Kelli

Kelli was born and raised in Pinole, and started coming to El Sobrante Veterinary Hospital as a youngster with her mom and dad. After high school, she graduated from Carrington College with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She began working for El Sobrante Veterinary Hospital in 2010 and obtained her Registered Veterinary Technician License in 2013. Kelli has five spoiled cats. Outside of work she enjoys traveling the world with her husband and daughter, and as of this writing, she has a second daughter on the way! Don't be fooled! Kelli may seem quiet and reserved, but there's a sneaky sense of humor behind those glasses!

Amanda

Amanda has been working in the veterinary field for a collective of over ten years. She has had a deep love for all animals since early childhood, and cherishes the opportunity to help pets as our Ninja Customer Service Representative. Amanda was born and raised in the East Bay, and joined our team in May of 2019. She has a sassy 18 year old Calico kitty, Hammy, and a Tennessee Walking Horse Mare, Jazzy. Amanda also enjoys hiking, swimming, and international travel to exotic places.

Victoria

Victoria has been part of our family since 2015. Victoria is quite the animal lover and has a menagerie at home that includes chickens, ducks, a goose, a turkey, Jeff the pig, three dogs, as well as two kittens who she found at 4 weeks old running down the middle of Hwy 5! As a child, Victoria spent time catching feral kittens and making them love her. In her free time, Victoria enjoys fishing, hunting and hanging with her animal crew.

Sheila

Sheila has been in the field for many years, but just joined our crew in 2020. She grew up in Richmond and raised her family right here in El Sobrante. She has always done rescue work, having fostered many dogs, cats and even birds! She has four rescue dogs and five rescue cats, including a cherished 21 year old. In her free time, Sheila will be found cooking, gardening or walking with her dogs. She loves her job and can often be found doting on the patients in a cute, little voice making sure they are comfortable and feeling loved.

Xylaia

Xylaia became part of the team in early 2021. She is a college student at Diablo Valley College and is studying to be a wildlife biologist. She enjoys doing anything with animals which is why she wanted to work here. Xylaia has one cat and one dog. In her free time, Xylaia enjoys drawing, reading and writing. She also plays several instruments, and likes playing video games. Talk about well-rounded!!!

Esperanza - Queen of the Hospital

Esperanza was found stray in Richmond. Some people were feeding her, but they couldn't take her in, so they called a local rescue. Unfortunately, the rescue didn't have any available foster homes at the time, so we told them she could stay here until they had a foster. It wasn't long before we realized this was a very special kitty and she started hanging out around the hospital while we were here. She is now comfortable with many favorite places to sprawl. Ultimately, it would be nice to find her a home because she is very affectionate and would be a very good spooner at night in bed! She likes to play with her toys, isn't afraid of any of the animals that come into the hospital, and loves to be loved. Please let us know if you might want to consider her for adoption.
